Walk the house. Fingerprint the air. Fix the Wi‑Fi.
Guided room tours, dead-zone hunt, neighbor pressure, root-cause triage, continuous path monitoring, and multi-device household reports — still honest about browser RF limits.

Spectrum analyzer
Waterfall + envelope. Hover table rows to isolate an SSID. Badges mark modeled vs logged.
Browsers cannot list SSIDs. Modeled RF + your logs + path probes. Use Walk mode for room pins.
Channel occupancy
Conflict energy by channel.

Environment table

Pro scanner
Everything this browser and host can actually read. Beacons and LAN port sweeps stay blocked — those chips explain why instead of inventing data.
Tap a chip to see what that scan can and cannot do.
This device
CPU, memory, display refresh, GPU, battery, storage, permissions, and the Network Information API.
Link path
Live measurements to this host: RTT, DNS, captive portal, WebRTC. Deep probe adds throughput, TLS, audio, and cache.
Idle.
Air model
Refreshes the spectrum model, then recommends a channel per band from modeled plus logged networks.
Public host
DNS, certificate, and security headers for a public name. Only ports 80 and 443. Private addresses are refused.
Radios & buses you can grant
Each button opens the browser chooser. We keep product identity and drop serial numbers.
Wi‑Fi QR & barcodes
Camera, photo, or pasted WIFI: text. The password is redacted and never sent to the server.
Motion & NFC
One accelerometer sample, or an NFC tag on Android Chrome. NFC payloads that look like Wi‑Fi passwords are redacted.
Bufferbloat
Measures idle RTT, then RTT again while an upload is in flight.
Path split
This device to the app, versus the app to Cloudflare. Separates local delay from the public path.
Gateway check
One request each to common router addresses. Not a port scan. The browser may block private-network access.
Bluetooth RSSI
Pick a device and watch its advertisement strength. A full nearby census only exists where the browser still allows it.
Sound spectrum
Microphone frequencies — acoustic, not radio. Stop it when you are done so the mic turns off.
Scan log
A running record of scans from this session. Nothing here is a fake RF hit.
Guided walk mode
Kitchen → Hall → Bedroom… Auto-tracks rooms, big “I’m here” button, coverage ring.

Dead-zone finder
Gamified hunt for the worst spot — live score while you log.
Higher = worse coverage
Find the worst spot in the house.

Floor plan pins
Upload a photo/sketch, click to drop RSSI samples. Pins color by device.
RSSI heat map
Interpolated from your pins (not magic RF).

Roaming boundaries
Root-cause triage
Client vs airtime vs WAN vs captive — one card, not a wall of charts.
Quick questions
Answer what you know — leave the rest off.
Primary cause
Run triage
We’ll score coverage, congestion, client, WAN, and captive portal.

Actionable planner
Checklist from logged density, channels, and path health.
What-if channel
Simulate parking your AP on a channel.
—
Pick a country to check whether that channel is allowed.
Country channel plan
Allowed channels and a lowest-energy pick that stays legal. DFS is called out.
AP coverage guess
Click to drop up to two access points. Drag a dot to move it. This is wall-loss math, not a survey.
Uses your wall setting from Context. Default is mixed construction.
Guest Wi‑Fi QR
Drawn on this device only. The password is not saved and not sent to the server.
Nothing drawn yet.
Continuous monitoring
Probes while this tab is open. Turn on hidden probing and browser alerts if you switch apps. A fully closed browser can only continue where periodic background sync is allowed.

Environment context & consent
Optional labels that make planner and triage smarter. Nothing sensitive without a toggle.
Consent
No context set.
Path-loss prior appears after walls are set.
Import field data
CSV, analyzer text, OCR, netsh, UniFi JSON, OpenWrt UCI, Home Assistant, router admin paste, screenshots.
Companion apps POST to add_measurement with source companion.
Screenshot → structured
Upload a Wi‑Fi analyzer screenshot, then paste OCR text (or type the rows you see).
We store the image on the pin metadata when possible; parsing is client-side from your text (no third-party OCR server).
Router / controller integrations
Store UniFi, Home Assistant, or OpenWrt settings. Paste exports in Import for real airwaves-adjacent data.
Credentials stay on the survey record. Prefer paste-import of controller exports on shared hosting.
Educational mode
Why channel planning matters on 2.4 GHz.
Non-overlapping: 1 · 6 · 11
At 20 MHz these three sit side-by-side with minimal overlap.
Overlapping: 3 + 7 (bad)
Partial overlap causes messy collisions — often worse than sharing a clean channel.
How AetherScan gathers data
- Modeled — physics-style multi-SSID environment for visualization
- Logged — walk pins, CSV, OCR, netsh, UniFi/OpenWrt/HA paste, family share
- Scanned — device, GPU, QR, Bluetooth/USB you grant, public-host DNS and certificates
- Measured — RTT, parallel load, throughput curve, DNS, TLS, WebRTC, stream jitter, SW cache, audio latency
- Context — walls, people/IoT, microwave, video call, time-of-day (consent)
- Fingerprint — BSSID OUI vendors, mesh clusters, neighbor pressure, roam boundaries
